About the Society

Established in 1732, the Dudley Book Society gathers readers who favour marginalia over megaphones. Our customs honour the printed word: candle vigils, silent salons, and the turning of pages with clean hands.

We are apolitical, non-sectarian, and enduringly curious. Membership is by quiet invitation.
